Electric Vehicle Power Transfer Systems — Article 625
The exam's "Electrical Vehicle Chargers" items come almost entirely from six rules: the individual branch circuit (625.40), continuous load (625.41 → 125 % conductor and OCPD sizing), the cord lengths (625.17), the disconnect and emergency shutoff (625.43), the receptacle configurations and the 125 % plug rule (625.44), and GFCI for EV receptacles (625.54). Written from the 2026 text.

1. Scope, listing, markings (Part I)
- 625.1: the conductors and equipment connecting an electric vehicle to premises wiring for charging, power export, or bidirectional current flow. Vocabulary: EVSE (electric vehicle supply equipment), WPTE (wireless power transfer equipment), EVPE (electric vehicle power export equipment).
- 625.2 equipment listed for the purpose; 625.4 permanently installed equipment is installed by qualified persons; 625.5 permanent field markings outside the enclosure: supply voltage, phases, frequency and full-load current of each supply circuit, and the short-circuit current rating (from the listed assembly or an approved method).
This is where the public part ends.
